How it works

Pay is calculated from exact minutes, so 38h 45m counts as 38.75 hours. Regular pay and overtime pay are each rounded to the cent once.

You decide which hours are overtime. This calculator does not apply a weekly threshold; to find overtime from daily clock times, use the Time Card Calculator.

Formula
regular pay = round(regular minutes × rate ÷ 60)
overtime pay = round(overtime minutes × rate × multiplier ÷ 60)
estimated gross pay = regular pay + overtime pay
Limitation. This is gross pay before taxes, deductions, tips or benefits. HourCalio does not calculate net pay or decide which hours are overtime.

Frequently asked questions

Does this include taxes?

No. It shows estimated gross pay, before federal, state or local taxes and any deductions. HourCalio does not calculate net pay.

Why use exact minutes instead of rounded hours?

Rounding the hours first can change the cents. 7h 20m at $17.35 is $127.23 from exact minutes, but rounding the hours to 7.33 first gives $127.18.

Which hours count as overtime?

That depends on your job and where you work. Enter the overtime hours shown on your pay stub or time card. The 1.5× multiplier is an editable default, not a legal determination.

Can I use it for a biweekly paycheck?

Yes. Enter all the regular and overtime hours for the pay period. To check overtime week by week from clock times, use the Time Card Calculator.
